Resume of Career

Mark Schmidt is currently conducting research into the use of doped or coupled Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) in the ultraviolet (UV) and visible light spectrum. The research focuses on increasing the efficiency of the material by doping or coupling TiO₂ with other photo semiconductors. The ultimate goal is to produce a visible light activated photocatalyst which maintain the photocatalytic qualities of TiO₂, but uses a larger portion of the visible light spectrum than TiO₂ itself. Mark plans to graduate BSEE/MSEE in spring 2008.
