Principal Investigator – “Photocatalytic Air Disinfection to Destroy Airborne Hazardous Microorganisms”, University of South Florida, September 2002-March 2004. This project developed the Photo-electrochemical Technology for Indoor Air Disinfection.
 
Principal Investigator – “Hydrogen Research and Education”, NASA, April 2002-September 2004. This project investigated fundamental research needed to produce, store and transport hydrogen.


Co-Principal Investigator – “Effectiveness of Photocatalytic Reactor System for Water Recovery and Air Revitalization in Long-Duration Human Spaceflight”, NASA, January 2001-May 2002. This research project developed a new photocatalytic reactor for zero gravity operation in space for water and air revitalization.


Principal Investigator - “Innovative Thermal Cycle for Geothermal Power”, U.S. Department of Energy, September 1999-March 2001.  A new thermodynamic cycle was developed to utilize low temperature heat, such as from geothermal sources to produce power and refrigeration in the same cycle.
